When I first started using my 720, I did not get a position lock. I installed an external antenna and the system was mostly reliable. Lately however, I am not getting a position lock, rendering me GPSless. I have done facory resets to no avail. Sometimes I show no satellites being received (even though I am outside with no interference....basicall, in flight in an open cockpilt.) Sometimes I show plenty of satellites but still the unit is lost. Very frustrating. I love the thing....when it works....

Starting to have the same problem --- It takes awhile to find itself after starting the airplane, but always does. However, when flying, "GPS position lost" is happening frequently. I have an RV-6A, tip-up canopy and have the external antenna plugged and sitting on the glare shield --- ideal "view of the sky". My panel mount GPS (old King unit) never loses lock.

Latest software and updates.

Interesting to read a few others with the same issue I had been experiencing.

The latest update fixed my issues with connecting to my iLevel and since using its GPS signal I haven't suffered a lost signal episode. Still not enough flight hours to say definitely, but it looks promising (knock wood). I had no rhyme or reason to my signal loss - panel mounted, external antenna on glare shield - would go from full WAAS lock to nothing in a matter of seconds. Only a hot reset would fix the issue.

Ed ---- thanks for the suggestions----- out of town right now but will try when I get back to the plane ----- panel mount antenna is just forward of the windshield and the iFly remote antenna is just aft of the windshield and almost directly behind the panel mount antenna ---- I will do the reset and reposition antenna to see how that works.

Lost signal enroute 4B0 - MMU, about 40 NE MMU for about 20nm. Tried re-boot, no cigar.

iFly 720 FL12020499, latest updates (as of Friday). I have your external antenna mounted rear right portion of top window. First failure since I upgraded in April.

Thanks,

Robert Szego
