I have had success getting targets on both my Samsung Note 3 phone and my LG tablet. Now the phone won't show targets.

It says I am receiving, have several towers and I get Nexrad and Metars from ADS-B source and have the target alerts set the same on both units.

I tried clearing the cache on the phone, but no luck.

Have targets altitude and range set to unlimited.

Any ideas?

I like having the phone as a fall back for my tablet.

By the way...no more "no heartbeat" issues all the way to OSH and back.

When you say "targets", do you mean traffic?

Just in case, can you check your "Map Mode" and make sure you have "Traffic" layer enabled? Otherwise, traffic won't show.

Otherwise, the best way I can debug this is to get two ADSB logs from you, from devices running side-by-side, one which shows the traffic , and the other which does not. To generate these logs, just do this:

1. Menu=> About => Connected Devices => Wireless Device => Enable ADSB Log
2. then fly...
3. After landing, restart iFly, and on startup, answer "no" to keeping Adsb Logger enabled, ELSE it'll overwrite your adsb log files (note, for 9.7, I have a fix for that).
4. Then when online, do "Menu => About => Send Bug Report => Select Log => select "AdsbRaw.bin" file

Do that for both devices, and from the logs, I'll be able to see what's going on.

Brian:

Thanks for the quick response.

Looks like I had a short between the headsets. I just checked the phone here at home and sure enough I did NOT heve traffic activated in the Map Mode.

I was going into Menu>Setup>Alerts and settings>and Traffic Alerts>Enable Traffic Alerts which I checked thinking it would do the job, but it appears you also have to turn on traffic alerts in the map mode also.

Seems redundant.

When can we expect a comprehensive up to date IFLY manual i.e., IFLY for Dummies like me?

Seeing traffic and receiving traffic alerts are two different things.

Thanks for raising this issue. One chief goal of iFly is to "work easy without a manual" (although we need to update the manual). As part of that goal, we've done two things for version 9.7:

1. Auto-Enabled Traffic Layer, so that this is the default setting on installation.
2. If you toggle the "Traffic Alerts Enabled" to on, iFly now re-enables the Traffic Layer on the map.

We are now erring on the side of showing too much, and having the user figure out how to hide it, rather than vice-versa.
