If I buy a Bendix-king KT74 retrofit transponder for the 2020 A-DSB mandate, will it work with my Ifly 700, they only say it need a Waas capable GPS, I do not know what type of connector they are using, If you could check this out, there are Thousands of KT 76 and 78 out there, and this would become a very popular upgrade before 2020
Thanks

If you are thinking you would use the 700 or 720 as a "position source" linked to a Mode S transponder to meet the 2020 ADS-B "Out" mandate, I am pretty sure that will not work. My understanding is that the position source must be certified to meet a specific TSO and, at this time, I do not think the 700 or 720 have that certification.

Correct, you'll need to get a " Certified Position Source" or TSOd GPS receiver to use with the KT74. They don't tell you the details of that upfront. I think they should offer a KT74 + GPS "bundle" if they are going to call it 2020 compliant. This would avoid confusion.

The iFly is WAAS, but it is not Certified, actually no portable device can be. I hope this clears any confusion.

This is why I am looking at the Navworx ADS600-BG unit. They are advertising the -B unit today with for $2400+ antennas, etc. (Oshkosh Special) with a future upgrade of $500 or less to -BG or equivalent version in the future. The -BG has the certified GPS and meets the requirement for the 2020 Mandate where Mode C is required today (as is my home airport).

And I forgot to add will work with most (if not all) Mode C Transponders and meet the 2020 mandate. No need to swap transponders....
