Yes, I have not filed IFR in close to ten years, but I'm holding onto my Jepp plates for the near future.

Looks like Jeppesen has discontinued their VFR+GPS charts; I have a copy of the March 2009 W-1 (Western US) 2nd Edition. It is 1 : 500,000, same as our sectionals. This is a low-res scan (for size considerations) of the Bay area portion. The chart itself is very high quality.

I have to believe this is the basis of their new electronic charting offering, and worth looking into.

when you take in to account the cost for annual fees for the CFS ($100) because TC says you must carry most current information for your planned route. than the cost of FF is not all that bad.

with foreflight you get Canadian VNC, VTA, CFS, CAP,Plates Lo/Hi Charts and it is approaved by TC for use. yes it is over kill for most but for me it was cheaper by the time I paid for CFS, ON VNC, VTA was the break even point.

Still like my AP700 but needed canadian data.

Greetings Fellow Flyers.

It's been about a year since we had the discussion about VFR maps to visit our fellow flyers to the north. AP, do we have any news?

Cheers,

Charlie who would like to fly north and use the IFly not the GNS 430W (call me crazy, if you'd like)
