Several of you have asked me to post pictures of my SkyGuardTWX AHRS transciever mounted on the glareshield of my Tri-Pacer. I took these pictures last Saturday. The SkyGuard unit is the silver box on the right side, ahead of the Garmin 295 GPS, the blue transmitter blade antenna is on the left side of the windshield, and the WAAS GPS puck is fully forward in the center of the glareshield (you can't see it). The iFly 720 appears much larger in this photo because of the position of the camera and the angle, but it really does not block my view out of the windsheld at all from eye level. If I took the picture at eye level you would not be able to see the SkyGuard box. I am very pleased with the 720-SkyGuard integration - they just work well together. After doing a test, I am going to relocate all the SkyGuard gear to the empennage - I have a fabric airplane and the SkyGuard performs superbly back there. ===Ralph

I like what you've done with what you have.

Just an FYI though. I flew to KCCR from KDVT last week with a return the next day. Only six hours total on the way to KCCR and seven hours on the return with three of those hours flying in the dark.

I found having the 700 in front of the compass caused me to have a sore neck by looking through the lower lens of my bi-focals glasses. Now I'll have to find another spot to place the 700.

The other problem was even in night mode, the 700 was still too bright. I eventually turned it away. I then found I enjoyed seeing meteorites streaking overhead.

Is there anyway that I/you could turn the brightness down another notch?

Zodiac pielit: Roger about the neck strain from using bi-focals with the iFly mounted high. I had cataract surgery last year with new lenses implanted so I no longer require correction for distance vision; I now use a pair of "half-eyes" magnifiers for close-up, and higher up on the bridge of my nose they are perfect for reading the iFly 720 without cranking my head back. Also, I flew last Wednesday night and also saw a shooting star - reall cool. This picture was taken on a 1.3 mi final to KRID. The 720 is set at the pre-set "Night" mode setting, which seems to be just about right for me, especially with a TAC chart as backgroud. I retro-fitted all the "steam guages" in my 1957 Tri-Pacer with Nulite bezels between the instrument face and the panel. ===Ralph
