Since the competition Like the big G Garmin and the smaller anywhere Map have already put on the market some Aviation GPS app for the Ipad and Android, Is there any chance to see one day Ifly ported to those platforms? This would give even a better choice among the Forflight, Wingx, Naviator, Avilution AviationMaps etc..

Guliver1,

Anything is possible, we're always evaluating other platforms and ensuring we're on the best technology track for our products. Many iFly owners who also own Foreflight, WingX, etc have expressed how much more intuitive the iFly GPS software is. The recent trend of pilots using the iPad, Tablets is something we keeping an eye on as an opportunity to reach the pilot community, however hardware is still of concern as the iPad and Android tablets just do not offer the "Sunlight Readability" that the iFly 720 offers.

Thank you for the update, but since you mentioned "Sunlight Readability" I know the Ifly 700 was rated around 350 nits, so in order to be able to compare the improvement what is the number of nits on the Ifly720 ?

The iPad 2 shows an average of 354 nits of brightness, with many reports of the New iPad looking dimmer than the iPad 2. The New iPad is reported to have only 303.7 nits average. I actually experienced this going from the iPhone 4 to 4S, it's documented that the RetinA screen does not do as well in bright sunlight. Brilliant indoors, but it suffers outdoors similar to the Super Amoled screens.

The iFly 720 beats all of these with an effective nit value of 600 nits with the transflective light technology. The iFly 720 is by far the best valued sunlight readable toughscreen GPS on the market. With affordable updates and no APPs or mandatory 3rd party subscriptions, you can't beat the iFly 720. That said, even the iFly 700 is more visible than the iPad, with its 350 nits and a anti-reflective screen for less reflections.

The iFly GPS is simple, affordable, dedicated and dependable aviation device that benefits the Aviation Industry.

Question? Do you think Apple listens to what Pilots want from their device? We do! For both hardware and software!

Thank so much for the detailed reply. In fact my wife got the new ipad3 but I think you are right the screen brightness did not impress me at all. but in fact A new product from asus is coming in June an upgrade of the tf201 (tf201=Bad GPS and Wi-Fi) with all the bugs corrected and an improved display with great resolution but above all also in the 600 Nits range, the name is Tf 700 or infinity http://eee.asus.com/eeepad/transformer-infinity/features/

I do not try to open a Pandora box but it is because I know Adventure pilot listen to the pilots I had a Ifly700 and because I was happy with it This is why I was wondering if one day we could see a Ifly app at least for the Android market.
