Two suggested enhancements:

--Add the option of having Zulu time plus Local Time or have a toggle so that pilot should shift to the other time as needed.

--Add a fuel time tracker as one of the modes which would track time on each tank: pressing right tank would begin timer on right tank and turn off timer on left tank, and vice versa. Pilot would always know how much time (cumulative) each tank was used. This would be great for Piper owners.

Kent,

Very good feedback. Both of these features are on our wishlist and we just recently discussed more details around possibly working them into a future update if possible. We are looking at adding a fuel timer or custom timer for Version 7 and maybe additional clocks (Local, Zulu, Alternate) for a following version. We would also like to deploy auto time zones as well. As always, we continue to develop and grow the iFly GPS feature set. Thanks for your business and support of our brand.

These are good suggestions but I think adding these data fields on the active map page would be too much screen coverage. Yes, I know we can setup our basic or advanced instruments but it leads me to another idea.....

Since certain info is not always actively required (like these), what about having one button that would bring up or toggle a secondary instrument page? Perhaps have it automatically switch back (if you are not inputting) to the main after a short amount of time so its a 1 input affair. On such page you wouldn't even need to display a map - it could be setup by the user like an instrument pannel with whatever instruments they require and you can make them look a lot cooler (like real instruments maybe) :-).

This method could also be used to toggle between map and synthetic vision in the future....hint....hint

I'm in the process of buying a new (to me) plane with four fuel tanks which require that I move a fuel selector switch. I went looking for the fuel timer option in iFly, and not finding it, went searching in this forum. Is it buried somewhere in the software or is there NO TIMER? I found this thread from *2011* and it's still not incorporated? That seems very weird, given how sophisticated this product is and how many releases have occurred since this original posting. What are the other multi-tank pilots doing and why hasn't this been requested since?

If liability is an issue, just have us users click on an acknowledgement (that pops up when we add the fuel timer instrument to our layout) that we will NOT rely on it to keep us from fuel starvation (or whatever wording you want).

It seems like such a simple thing: just a timer that starts at zero when the iFly software senses that the plane is in motion like the Flt Duration instrument does (so I don't forget to start it myself -- which I will do), and bugs you every X minutes (set by the user) by flashing the timer instrument or doing a popup window. When the user presses on the flashing instrument or popup window then the timer starts counting up from zero again.

This is a big deal (to me, anyway) to not have this. Do I have to keep my Garmin Aera just to give me the "Switch Fuel Tanks" warning every X minutes? I was planning on getting rid of that now that I have iFly. Or will I have to install a separate timer (which I will forget to start 90% of the time, and will forget 50% of the time to reset when I switch the tanks).

Thanks for the great product, and PLEASE put this in a release soon (that is if I'm not being stupid by not finding it in the current release -- in which case, I hope somebody will set me straight).

Again, thanks.

P.S. You don't even have to call it a "Fuel Timer". You could just call it a "Timer" or a "Count-Up Timer". I mean, there's other uses for a timer that bugs you every X minutes, right? Heck, for that matter, make it a "Count-Down Timer". As long as either one (or both) starts itself and is easily resettable.

Thanks.
