So if I order one now, I can just update it to have a portrait display?

Yes. This will be a software update for all.

Sounds real good, so let's get it on.

My Bellanca yoke lets me mount the IF700 in the center of the yoke ( where I prefer it ) using a longer extension arm from Ram.

Only problems are it positions so my thumbs are between the IF700 and the yoke ( awkward ) and it just makes sense to see whats ahead instead of whats out to the sides.

An Airgizmo would be welcome, but I really like having this type of device in the yoke.

Sooo, I'm looking forward to the software update. If I can donate to it's coming, jusst let me know!

I flew almost 2 hours under the hood yesterday working on getting my instrument currency back. Has been 20 years since I was current. The iFly720 worked great. When my CFII told me to fly a different approach I had it loaded in half the time it took him to flip to his paper plate. This unit is so intuitive it really makes things easy.

After 2 hours though I realize just how important it would be to have a portrait mode so the plates could be full screen rather than having to be moved around to see what you need to see. Would also be great to be able to unclutter the screen once you are in an approach plate. Most of the buttons and instruments are not needed once you are on approach so a full screen and clean approach plate is all that is needed at that point.

Thoughts?
