Just did a fairly long flight plan and discovered that the only times/distances shown in the list are leg time & distance. There is a total at the end but it would be very handy to have the running total as well for helping to figure fuel stops....not just the fuel used on the leg. Some legs are not stops, just direction changes and adding all that up in your head is annoying. Some way of noting planned stops would help with fuel too. . .I'm looking at a 2 or 3 stop flight here.
I saw that someone mentioned the lack of Airport ID's and that would be nice as well. It would make a flight plan easier to fill out when you have ID's instead of airport names.

Thanks
Frank

I agree, Frank. And while we're talking about fuel stops - I have one question and one suggestion: (1) question - to which airport does the vertical speed tool calculates to? The next airport on the route or the the very last airport on the route? Frank's suggestion about taging fuel stop airports would be very nice. (2) suggestion - I think it would be very useful if the user could drop a circle with a radius of his choice centered at fuel stop airports. This would make finding the next fuel stop much easier. For instance, I like to stop around ever 300nm. I would chose a radius of 300nm, then, as I flight plan a route across the country, I could drop a circle at each fuel stop as I work my way towards my destination. Moving along my route line, when I come across the circle arc I would know that this is were I need to look for an airport that has fuel.

Great ideas for fuel planning. For those that don't know, you can use many online flight planning tools to create your plan and export these to the iFly. Just save the plan as a GPX file to a thumb drive, put the drive in the iFly, and goto the Load Flight Plan form.

The VST (Vertical Speed to Target) will target the next airport in the flight plan (For this reason you should only put airports in your plan where you intend to land). You can also specify an altitude for any of your waypoints using the flight plan form, in which case the VST instrment will direct you to that altitude at that point.
