I just bought the skyradar S2 ads-b receiver, and having trouble getting the ifly 700 to work with it.

I downloaded the skyradar app on my iphone and I can get metars to show up on my phone but not on the i fly 700.

when I plug in the usb cable I will sometime get a message that says unidentified device, and has a box to name the device, but I cant put anything in the box, I can only click ok or the close X. also if I got to check for connected devices it tells me no serial ports no assigned ports no controllers attached.

I live in arizona where the weather is always great, so not having any bad weather to look at is a problem.

I'm planning a trip to ohio in a couple weeks and would like to have the weather working.

Thanks

Jon

The iFly GPS will need some altitude in order to receive the ADS-B signal. Your iPhone with the SyRadar App will actually us the 3G to pull data in while on the ground. Have you flown with the iFly, say 1000-2000 ft AGL. You should notice the Weather Mode notate "ADS-B Live". If you are seeing ADS-B No Data, it is connected just not transmitting data.

Also, please report back with you serial number, Software Version and OS. The serial number is on the back of the device and under Menu, About, Version and Contact. You can get the Serial number here along with the Software Version. The OS is in the system menus at start up. Touch Config, System and the OS is under the System Information section.

Feel free to contact us at 888-200-5129 for support. Its better to troubleshoot over the phone, if you can.

Shane,

ifly 700 S/N MB110234

software version 6.5.10

OS system 3.0.10

I was flying at 8500 msl, and the when I go to weather mode it just says next to weather mode. weather(preflight). nothing about adsb or anything like that.

I talked to alexey at sky radar and me said there were only 2 stations near me and they were about 65-70 miles away.

Thanks

Jon

Jon,

At 8500 MSL, what was you AGL. I don't know where you were flying. With two station within 60-65 miles, you should very likely get a signal above 1000 AGL, thats conservative. Baring any major terrain between you and the stations. Give us a call at 888-200-5129. If the iFly and the SkyRadar at successfully connected, you should see ADS-B (Live, No Data, or Idle) in the Weather Mode. Preflight indicates it is not connected.

Shane,

I live in northwest arizona based at A20 which is at 725 msl. we have 5,000 foot mountains all around here, so my agl was between 6-7000 agl. I meant to call today but got too busy at work. Ill try to call on monday. I believe the ifly is not connecting to the skyradar. I tried to connect it up and I did get a popup msg that said unidentified usb device, and there was a box to enter a name but I cant type anything in the box, the only thing I could do was tap ok or the X next to it.

Thanks

Jon
