Just got back from my usual NY - VT run. On my return leg my 720 started acting up. Seems that as the map was moving it would occasionally have trouble loading the rest of the image. At first I thought it was a "switch maps" issue but it wasn't . I had it set on follow plane an it would develop a horizontal line across the screen that would slowly move down (as it was following plane). The image above was whited out and just said "loading image". The only way to fix it was to switch to another mode and then back to sectional and it was fine.

If it were a one time thing I wouldn't worrie but it happened 4 times over a 1:45 flight. The unit also seemed very sluggish with some of the inputs (like switching modes). It would hang for a few seconds before reacting. Haven't had a chance to test on the ground.

Tried to replicate in sim mode. All worked fine. Only difference I can think of is I was connected to Skyradar during the flight. Seems like others with 700's have reported sluggish behavior as well when connected to Skyradar.

Is there any chance you might have accidentally been running two instances of the Navigation software? I'm not sure if the latest version now prevents that from happening, but I think when the 720 first came out it was possible to launch the Nav app, then go back to the main menu while leaving the Nav app running in the background. If you then clicked the Navigation button on the main menu, it would launch a second instance of the app, and problems like you described could happen.

If you went straight to the Nav app after powering on and then stayed there the whole time, then two app instances running together would not be your problem....
