I had not used my remote control since updating to the new software and installing the new sd card. Last night, I turned the screen off with the remote control, as I have done in the past many times, thinking that I was just turning off the screen. To my surprise, when I turned it back on, the IFly was at the main navigation screen. After pressing the Navigation button, it re-started the GPS, and bought me to the disclaimer page as if I had just turned it on. I did this several times with the same result. I disconnected the power and the IFly booted up as it regularly does, directly to the chart. Using the power buttonn in the remote after a new restart gave me the same result; the GPS was turned off.

Is there a change in the new software that turns off the GPS instead of just the screen? I have not (voluntarily) changed any of the settings and the unit boots up directly to the navigation when starting up.

Alberto, That is unusual behavior. What is your Serial and OS version? We'll try and duplicate that.

Thanks,
Walter

Walter: I was able to reproduce my IFly condition again a few days after the flight. I wanted to do this to make sure it was not just a glitch. When pressing the power button on the remote, the GPS is turned off, not just the screen. Pressing the power button again brings me to the system menu where I have to press Navigation and the sequence takes me to the disclaimer page to start a "new" flight. Here is my information. Thanks for your help.

My serial number is MB9C0197

OS 2.0.4

Software version 6.0.8

Bootloader 1.0.0

Launcher 1.0.1

GPS Nav System 2008.04.05

I've asked Ed to try and reproduce this on the same serial batch/OS. He will get back with you on the results.

Thanks,
Walter

Ed tested and recreated the behavior. It's related to the 2.0.4 operating system, and seems to be specific to the MB9C batch of units. That OS had some critical fixes so I don't recommend rolling back to an older version. Is this something you can tolerate for a while? If we have a need to rebuild the OS again we will surely get this fixed as well. But that might not happen soon...please let me know.

Thanks!
Walter
