I have had a problem with my DC input connector slipping out and shutting down the unit. It's been this way since I got it. At first I thought I just wasn't being careful enough. I tried securing the cable better, but it kept happening.

Then I added some velcro around the sides and bottom and created a narrow strap to help hold it in. This isn't really working either. I just have to lightly bump the unit, or a bit of turbulence in the plane - and the unit shuts down. I then shove the connector back in and have to wait for it to boot up again. This seems to happen at least once each flight - and more frequently when I'm working with it at home.

I'm wondering if others have the same problem or if my cable connector may be just a fraction smaller than standard due to some manufacturing glitch?

I have been so happy with my IFly I just kept assuming this was my problem and that I wasn't being careful enough. However, I've gotten to the point where I have tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to work.

My question for others is - do you have a similar problem? If not, I'm just going to buy a new cable and see if that helps.

Thx,
Gary

Gary,

The plug should stay put. Does your AC cord also easly slip out? If so we might need to replace your iFly. If not we'll replace your DC cord. Please contact support (support@adventurepilot.com) to continue this conversation and get your problem resolved.

Thanks,
Walter

FYI - I took a closer look at the problem this morning and discovered what was really happening. It's not that the connector slips out. It is any slight rotation of the connector that causes it to shut down. The connector is still fully plugged in but if you bump the cable ever so slight and cause the connector to rotate even a small amount - blam, the unit shuts down. Most of the time it will then automatically restart, but not all of the time. This happens both with the ac cable and the USB cable.

I emailed a detailed explanation to your support address as you suggested.

Gary
