Hi all:

So, I just received my new Levil Astro Link and am getting very strange results. I've run tests on 4 different Samsung Android devices (individually and in pairs):

* New Galaxy S21 Ultra Phone

* New Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Tablet

* Older Galaxy Tab S5e Tablet

* Very Old Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet

Things work great on the New Phone and Very Old Tablet. Both iFly AHRS instrument and the Levil AHRS App are very responsive as I pitch and roll the Astro Link in my hand. Also, the "Connected Device" display in iFly shows good bit rate and good update rates for ADSB and AHRS.

But, thing aren't working well at all for the S5e and S6 Lite Tablets. Both apps show the devices constantly connecting and disconnecting (even though the WiFi link is solid). And, for the times when it is connected, both the iFly AHRS and Levil AHRS App are very sluggish not responding anywhere near as crisply to roll and pitch as the phone and old tablet. Also, the "Connected Device" display in iFly shows poor bit rate (sometimes zero) and update rates for ADSB and AHRS that are a factor of 10 slower than phone and old tablet.

I've gone so far as to Factory Reset the S6 Lite thinking some setting or installed app is interfering. It did no good.

Unfortunately, the S5e and S6 Lite are my flying tablets. So, either I get the Astro to work properly with them or it's going back. That would be a shame as I've heard very good things about it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Greg

Not certain it is the same problem, but I have a similar situation.  My Samsung S8 displays "No Gyro" quite often when I connect to my Levil BOM.  I was having problems calibrating the BOM so I called Levil.  They indicated they are hearing a number of issues with some Android devices and the Wifi "chip" in their products.  I was advised to try the IOS app with appropriate device to calibrate and let them know if I still had issues.  I am going to try to get up today to try it.

It's likely exactly the same problem. Walter did a lot of investigation using an S6 Lite that I sent him. He also worked extensively with an Levil engineer on the issue. Problem is that certain Samsung tablets don't like the 802.11b Broadcast packets used by the Astro Link. Levil has said they will upgrade the WiFi to 802.11n. I hope they do. Switching to Apple is a non-solution. And, I'm beginning to hate my Dual XGPS190.
