Re: Late TFR
Not to be your mom, but in this day and age of pop up TFR's and NOTAM's, it's prudent to get a Briefing (either verbally or via iFly) for any flight to another airport, no matter how close to home base. While I fly to our practice area 10 miles away without a Briefing, I won't fly to an airport 5 miles away without a Briefing. I've been burned before - runway closed for some reason, airshow/temp tower, etc. It's so easy to Brief with iFly and it's one less thing for the FAA to get you on if they have a different definition of "vicinity of an [the?] airport than you do.

Re: Late TFR
Don't know what you mean by IFLY briefing.
I do consult IFLY and the TFR was not indicated.
