I have the 8.1.67 update but while it now runs in Landscape Mode, I do not see any way to get it to change to Protrait mode...

What am I missing?

Frustrating and I also noticed my custom panel, etc. were gone. After restarting my iPad twice, I found that my panel and the rotation was back to normal. It seems these items might have been mentioned in order to aleviate the aggravation.

Yes, it maintains whatever orientation you are in when you start the app. It does not appear to be a way to change it after you start the app. I did find you can exit the app and then start it again and not lose the flight plan. I do agree with not just using the auto rotation of the ipad, this is too sensitive for using in the airplane. But, a button would be nice. There is a button while viewing plates that step through 90 degrees of rotation.

I did not seem to lose any of my custom instrument layouts during the update.

Even though you my not lose your instrument layout when shifting screen orientation, what is appropriate in portrait mode is OFTEN not desirable in landscape mode. I suggest that 2 separate layouts be saved if you are displaying numerous instruments.
