From within the 740, the update interface is different. However, if you have a Windows machine and an SD card slot, you can use the iFly Connect application to perform the update. The interface is still a bit different from the tablet update method, but it might be quicker (it was substantially quicker than updating through my iFly 720, but I don't know about the 740). The first time you do it, selecting the data you want might be somewhat tedious, but if you always download the same data you can save your selection and future updates will only scan those files and update what's needed.
