What are the differecnes between the 740 and 740b. I see a small difference between screen brightness 1300 nit vs 1100 nit on the 740b. Any difference in manufacturing ?  Will the 740 be phased out and replaced by the 740B.

I have the same questions--and also wonder if the display is less reflective than the 740's, which can be hard to read when bright sunlight falls on the pilot's light-colored clothing, skin, etc.

That's really the only difference. Some of the internal componets changed up a bit but it keeps the same functionality and performance as the 740. We anticipate the 740 sales to slow a bit due to the price difference but we will continue to offer the 740 in limited quantities.

Hi Don,

You will most likely have the same result with the 740b screen. It's not any less reflective than the 740. Just wear dark clothing when you fly :)
