My 720 and SkyRadar do work fine with NEXRAD.

I see you mentioned traffic is an issue.

I can't say I have ever seen traffic ( I have been in that mode a couple of hours).

Can you expand on the Traffic issue?

Expand on traffic...

First off I would say if using a receiver-only ADSB device (regardless of brand), traffic should be all but ignored. It will be spotty at best. I would go so far to say that traffic alerts with such a unit will be so sporadic that any expectations of an alert could be dangerous.

Specifically regarding the SkyRadar, it seems the method they are using to transmit traffic data has changed from the original design, and the design of the simulator we received from them. We still get some traffic data from SkyRadar units, so it's not 100%. We don't know which of their devices, revisions, or other variables determine how a traffic message is sent. And due to the reasons stated in my first paragraph, this is not easy to pin down. But we have one of their new models now, so we'll do some work to try and support the additional traffic message they send in a future release.

WE HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED THAT ADSB-In TRAFFIC ALERTING IS NOT RELIABLE----- WE SHOULD REMAIN VIGILANT AND STAY IN THE SEE AND AVOID POSTURE AT ALL TIMES......... HEADS UP, EYES OUTSIDE LOOKING FOR TRAFFIC.

For clarity...it's not the iFly alerting that is not reliable, it's simply that the FAA is not broadcasting much traffic data. The only traffic included in their broadcast are those planes in the immediate area of any aircraft with an ADSB OUT device. So if you have one of those devices you will be aware of airplanes around you. If you have a RECEIVER ONLY device, you will see these little pockets of aircraft at specific altitudes potentially dozens or even hundreds of miles away, and you may have no knowledge of the plane right underneath you...

FYI that when I am en route, I am no where close (much lower) to other airplanes that have ADS-B Out but near a large airport where I would like traffic alerts, I will be closer to those airplanes and should get traffic alerts. (once y'all can fix the Skyradar-L to iFly 700 traffic alert protocol change -;)
