Quick tip: If you already have iFly Connect downloaded or previously updated, you can start directly at Step 10.
3. Download iFly Connect
On the Update iFly Portables Instructions page, click the iFly Connect Installer.exe above.
4. Open the Installer
Click the download in your browser, or open File Explorer → Downloads and double-click iFly Connect Installer.exe.
5. Allow Changes & Select Language
When Windows asks if the installer can make changes to your computer, click Yes. Then, when prompted, choose your preferred language to continue the installation.
6. Choose Install Location
Select the folder where you want to install iFly Connect (the default is recommended).
7. Create Shortcuts (Optional)
Choose whether to create a Desktop icon and a Quick Launch icon, then click Next.
Tip: Shortcuts make it easy to open iFly Connect from your Desktop or Start Menu later.
8. Ready to Install
Review your selections and click Install to begin.
Note: If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes to allow the installer to make changes.
9. Finish & (Optionally) Launch iFly Connect
On the Completing the iFly Connect Setup Wizard screen, check Launch iFly Connect if you’re updating now. If you’re updating immediately, insert your SD card before clicking Finish, then click Finish.

10. Open iFly Connect
If iFly Connect didn’t auto-launch, open it now. Users who already have iFly Connect installed can start here.
11. Confirm SD Card Detection
With the SD card inserted, iFly Connect should display: “SD card found at [drive letter]. Do you wish to update this drive?” Click Yes.

12. Select What to Update
Choose the Sectionals, Charts, Diagrams, Plates, and Weather you need. Then pick an install action:
- Install Selected Items — full selection of data updates.
- Fast WX/TFR Update — only Weather and TFR.

Tip: Use Fast WX/TFR Update when you only need fresh weather/TFR before a flight.
13. Update Complete & Safe Eject
When the update finishes, a message will say Update Complete. Click OK. When asked if you’d like to eject your SD card now, click Yes.

14. Reinsert & Verify on Device
Plug the SD card back into your iFly device and power it on. Confirm it loads normally and shows the latest data — you’re done.
