I finally finished cobbling together my Stratux - or as I call it, my iFlyPi. My personal requirements were for it to be compact, dual band, powered by 12v or 24v ship's power, include a GPS/AHRS chip, and that chip be remote mounted via a standard CAT5 cable. The only problem I've had is finding a container to put it in. I've looked at WalMart, Hobby Lobby, Radio Shack, Harbor Freight, and everywhere else I could think of for just the right package. Then I started thinking outside the box and came up with a ridiculous solution. The whole thing is mounted to a piece of breadboard so it will be easy to transfer to that elusive, perfect package when the time comes. I'm also looking for a container for the remote GPS chip. I have a few tweaks in mind already and a fan is an option if temps require it. But for now, here is my working iFlyPi:
