Love portrait mode.....especially for viewing plates. Was playing with features in sim mode and was wondering if there is a way to quickly remove instruments / buttons (when viewing a plate)?

Seems like a quick double tap to toggle on/off would do the trick. Maybe just leave the zoom buttons....

Hey Dave,

Version 7.5 will have the ability to have its own instruments setting defined to Plates Mode. So if you set an instrument group to show none, when you enter a Plate or Airport Diagram, that Instrument group with no instruments will become active. Yet when you go back to a sectional, that instrument with instruments will be re-actived.

Basically, each of the (Landscape, Portrait and Plates & Diagrams modes) will have their own instrument setting that reside when that mode is entered. I think this will do what you are looking for.

Sounds great Shane, along with the plate instruments will there be a fit to screen for the plates. The current zoom levels show the plate smaller than the available screen (hard for 56 year old eyes to read) or larger then the screen meaning you have to move it around to see everything. A fit to screen or customizable zoom level to go along with the customizable instruments would be just the ticket.

Tim,

I can't confirm a Fit to Screen, but I do know we've added having the Plates default to North Up in both modes and I would image maximizing the zoom for each would only be practical. I'll confirm with Walter and Brain and if it is not, I'll relay this wish and post on the wish-list.

I was thinking about this lastnight. Everyone will want different instruments to show which is the beauty of your GPS over others. Of course the more instruments tou select the less screen available for the plates. If there were a way to select the zoom level that works best and lock it with the instrument selection that would seem to be the best solution. The current preset zoom levels are too wide to be of much good in plates mode. Something more finite would work well I would think.
