The top of my wish list is XM Weather capability. Anyone else like to see a higher quality weather than ADS-B?

I agree, thought I might be the only one out here, but I suspect there may be more. I have used a friends ADSB, and it is not a viable substitute for dependable weather for me. I still have to carry my Garmin 496 with XM weather to have a clue what is going on. Can not get a signal on the grond, might kick in at 3000 ft or so if I plan to fly that high, might let me know when it freezes up because of lost signal, etc.

I fly too low and too remote for ADSB to be effective most of the time. I hate paying the XM fee and having to carry an extra GPS which It seems I need to find a place to pernimate mount, but it frequently is a major safety factor for me. It does cause more heads down time to see what is going on.

ADSB is not all it is cracked up to be for me, but I do not have an airline. Radar might come up in a few minutes, might not. Like the difference in USPS and UPS. Want it tommorow?

Any chance of providing an iFly XM Weather receiver input in the future for those of us that would like to use a real WX service until ADSB might can catch up?

Thanks for what you do.

Sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with ADSB. Where I fly (southern/central US), coverage is fantastic. I don't usually look at it on the ground, so I don't know whether I have it available there or not (I use other resources on the ground, like cell phone, wifi, or the free computer at the FBO), but it's always avaialble in flight.

I have no need or desire for XM.

I agree, Cobra. Last summer I flew back to Florida from northern Idaho, and relied heavily on ADSB Wx. I was able to pick my way through numerous lines of showers easily. Without would have been impossible. I agree that XM is probably better, but ADSB is as current or better than XM, but it's new and may improve. But it is perfectly acceptable as is right now. And free. And no extra hardware required.

I don't know where you are flying, but here in the Southeast the ADSB radar coverage is very accurate and current. I always have reception by 200' AGL and have 5 to 6 towers by 2500' AGL. I'm sure that your mileage may vary, dependent on your location....
