It says on the SkyRadar website, that the SkyRadar L is "not compatiable with IFLY 700". Does anyone know why? or have experience with it?

Thanks,

Wade

Wade,

We have some repots of the 700 work and some not. We are currently working to resolve this connectivity concern. SkyRadar changed a component on the L model and we have a new test device enroute. Both parties felt it best to remove compatibility on the 700 for the L-Model until this is resolved. We'll know more once we receive the new unit as our prior L-Model had a bad USB port.

We will report back with additional information as it become clearer. Thanks for your patience and understanding on this.

I have the skyradar-L and 700. I 'm not technical enough to understand what the problem is, but they don't work well together. My first flight the Nextrad worked but the ifly was saying the data was 45 to 55min old. I don't think it was, but that is what was displayed. The text weather worked but I could not get any TAF's or Winds aloft. The next flight was a 2 hour trip. The nextrad didn't work and the text did, but still no TAF's or winds aloft. Then about 1/2 way through the flight everything started to act up and the Ifly eventually crashed. I rebooted several time and the Ifly would say "NO GPS Signal" and not track the flight. In the GPS status page it showed that it was tracking 12 satellites, but still displayed the NO GPS. Two days later I flew the return leg to that 2 hr trip and this time, everything worked perfectly. I had up to date Nextrad and Text weather, even the winds aloft. It worked flawlessly for the entire trip and was a great help as there was a fair amount of weather to navigate. I'll keep trying it, but won't expect much untill there is a fix.

The folks at Adventure Pilot are working on this issue and will probably have some sort of fix in a week or two.

Dan

I just purchased my 720, mostly because I want a GPS with nexrad. I have delayed purchase of an ADBS unit until I get some feedback of what is actually working. I guess it is safe to eliminate the skyradar L right now. Anyone have experience with the skyradar S2 or D2 model?

Rick
