Bugs

Hope this is the right spot for bug reports.

1. daylight savings time setting does not save. Power off unit and powerback on it loses the setting and disables dst. unit keeps correct time.

2. flight plan ground speed setting either increments or decrements by 1 mph on saving. i.e enter 80mph and it shows up as 79, open it back up, add 1 mph and it shows as 81mph. Open it back up and change it to 80 and it shows up as 79.

3. In street map mode the volume is being set to lowest volume on power off, power up.

Works pretty good. I have it mounted to the left side tubes in a Stearman with a RAM mount and it gets a good signal. In my Cessna 140 it lost signal when headed westbound over lake michigan about 35 miles out from Kenosha. I hooked up the external antenna and it came back after a minute or three.

It's very readable in bright sunlight. About the only time it can't be read is when the sun is directly reflected into your eyes from the screen. I don't think anything would be readable like that.

Overall I'm quite pleased with it and am looking forward to terrain and obstacles.

One more, In a Best Western hotel in Sweetwater Texas I could not use their wireless. It would be connected but could not get anywhere. I think this is because they have a page you have to select a service type on before they let you out to the internet. I connected with my computer and experienced that. I tried to use Opera on the iFly to access the internet but I could not get the hotel access page to come up. I don't know if this was because it used java or something like that and maybe Opera on ifly can't do java. In any case, I could not get any updates at the hotel.

Run into the same problem with not being able to join the guest wireless on a Cisco AP because it requires you to logon to a web page before it lets you out to the internet. The Opera browser doesn't seem to be able to get the web page. Works fine on a PC.

Best to post bug reports in the Owners Q&A Forum - you will get owners replying more quickly. We are working on this issue - a fix will be coming with the version 7 release. You are correct, Opera browser does not support this type of redirect. So we will be launching a different browser when this issue is detected, once you enter the password or click acknowledge, you can perform an update or launch Opera browser from the device.

I believe the final beta v7 was released today. The guys have been working almost 24/7 lately fixing small issues encountered through beta testing. It looks like they have it almost ready for full release.
