Ralph, Thanks for the info on determining if charts and diagrams are geo-referenced. I did not think to look in the new version of the ifly manual. I appreciate your help! - Alon

I vote for Jim's idea -

If you need to keep the line, please use a thin line or perhaps a colored dashed thin line for the course line when it is shown on a chart.

Thanks for the idea of "reverse rubberbanding" from the destination airport to the various fixes along the approach path. An issue I kept having the other day was that when I tried to build an "approach flight plan", when I'd get done, and go back to the map to see the results, the iFly kept showing a magenta line from my current position direct to an intermediate fix within my flight plan rather than to the first fix designated in the flightplan. I tried building an approach flightplan at a different airport, but got a similar result. What am I missing?

Regardless, the reverse rubberbanding seems like an easier way to skin the cat. I'll give it a try. Your input on my flightplan problem would be much appreciated.

Walter, My software, charts, and plates are all current, and the new functionality is very useful. I do have two questions, though. On a recent flight I called up a STAR but was unable to keep it displayed without continuously manipulating it. If I left it alone, the STAR disappeared, leaving, essentially, a white screen. Is there a way for me to keep a STAR displayed until I intentionally select another option without having to continuously move it around? Also, is there a way to keep a georeferenced approach centered on the screen when my ownship indicator is not yet on the approach plate without having the display automatically go back to the track plane default location? Thanks - Dave S

Approach plates work just like other map views. If the map is following your plane, touch the map anywhere and scroll it a bit, and then the map will be "fixed" (i.e., not in "follow plane" mode anymore).

To resume "follow plane" mode, press the "Follow plane" button in the lower right area of the screen.
