On a couple of VOR approaches recently, I tried to choose a transition but it only shows -----. Tried it on tablet and phone. Don't know if widespread. See for example KCCR VOR 19R,

I should add that the approach plate does have IAFs and feeder(s) so expecting those to show up as transitions but they don't.

Interesting. IFly displays this message. Since Foreflight loads it with transitions, might be a different data source?

I see the graphic didn't come through. The message, whuch come up if you load the approach is that the FAA database for the approach did not include the transitions (Foreflight uses Jepp data)

Hoping Brolin will pop in here, since I think he has a role in those data conversions for iFly and might be able to share some insight.

Sure enough, no transition.

Granted, I've only done IFR ground school so this is me trying to remember everything, but we have transitions for the first two approaches, just not VOR.

AFAIK VOR approaches are that you tune NAV1 to the VOR and hold that radial - would it make sense that it wouldn't necessarily have a transition point if it's an omnidirectional beacon? I also see that REJOY is the IAF here on the 044 inbound radial...

I can rubber band the flight plan to choose REJOY and then CCR as waypoints from the map itself - not using a flight plan. That is your triage solution to this issue.

Thanks for flagging this, I will investigate it further. Deleting my old responses
