Jeff,
Thanks - I was actually picking it up (the STRATUX) and making it roll a few times in flight to see what affect that would have, but it just kept rolling.
Disabling it for now is the way to go for me...today was the first time I ever used ADSB. (Again, thanks!)
I do fly in very congested areas, like Washington, DC, New York City, Philly, Baltimore, etc. on a routine basis, so I am very used to having my head OUTSIDE. I am really hoping this ADSB will help with some of the traffic - we will see.
Today, I did see one aircarft (not talking) on the ADSB and called out to him over a non-towered airport.
While I was talking to him, a Yellow (what other color is there?) Piper Cub zoomed right by me! He was NOT depicted on ADSB as he had no electrics in his airplane and was only using a hand-held radio to talk in the pattern (as I later found out by talking to him on the ground.)
Anyway, the guy over the airport called "jumpers away" with me directly below him (I was in the pattern already) and I landed with parachutists landing all around me between the runway and taxiway -go figure!
So, my FIRST day with ADSB just went to prove it will NOT really save you from everything! Still have to be LOOKING OUTSIDE for the unexpected very basic aircraft, gliders, and of course, parachutists! What an eventful first day with STRATUX!
