I want to encourage iFlyGPS users to go ahead and build a Stratux ADS-B. I bought all the items at Amazon and they were delivered on Friday. To get a head start I had already downloaded the boot image so all I had to do was open the box assemble the parts, write the image to the MicroSD card and power it up. Including opening the box the whole process took 25 minutes.

Put the board in the case
Put in the four screws in the case
Write the MicroSD card
Insert the MicroSD card
Plug in the SDR (the radio)
Power it up
Connect your tablet to the Stratux Wi-Fi
Start iFlyGPS
Tap about
Choose Stratux
Go flying

I have ready sold two more and I may make a video to show just how simple it is to build.

Download the latest image at this site
https://github.com/cyoung/stratux/releases

Download the image writer "Win32diskimager" (easy to find-just Google it) or use your favorite image writer

All parts came from Amazon. There are a lot of cases but I really like this one.

Stephen:

I had bought the Stratux and using it convinced me to go for an in and out unit.

I installed the Navworx 600 EXP unit.

My friend and I gave our Stratux units to wingmen that fly with us often. As a flight we always know our relative position to each other.

However, when we loose radar contact due to low altitude or mountain obstructions, they drop out, but I can still see my friend with in and out.

While I play with (several) Stratux units regularly, I will NOT attempt to buy a navworx unit again, after they lied to us and jerked us around during their initial "sale" upon their first introductory pricing. I ordered one at $699. When I saw the first price increase I called and asked where my unit was. Conveniently, they had "lost" that order. Ok, giving them the benefit of the doubt, I ordered at the new price. Wouldn't you know it, that same thing happaned again. So dummy me tried once more to order the EXP unit at a "sale" price of $1199. Wait. Wait some more. Wait some more. Then, when the price was $1899 (I think) I tried them again - their response was, "Oh yeah, we will ship today at the current price, just give me your credit card number." Yeah, right. I will not deal with these inept or thieveing people. Their hardware/software might be constructed as badly as their business practices.

Beware Navworx.
