Similair thing just happened to me after upgrading this evening (FL12020023) but I rotated to right portrait, things seemed OK, then left portrait (so the power wire would be at the top). After that the screen locked. Powered down for a minute and it came up in landscape mode however when clicked Navigation the screen locked with words (in landscape) saying "loading data and..." with a vertical white bar several mm across about a third of the way from the left of the screen. Thanks to the great advice of the initial poster I succesfully got back to landscape mode by taping the lower left hand corner (unit orriented in portrate mode) then selecting landscape mode in a partial overlaping menu. Like the portrait mode (and the 720 in general) but will also be waiting for some bug fixes before try again.

alburk: Did you also update your OS for the FL12 series 720? The latest OS is required to rotate portrait mode in both directions. Here is a link to download the latest OS - be sure you get the correct one for your serial number and follow the instructions step-by-step. . http://ifly.adventurepilot.com/SUPPOR... I hope this helps. === Ralph

Thanks for the quick help. Again very impressed with the pace of improvements and tech support. Updated the OS per instructions and portrait mode works fine now. When this problem occured, I was just doing a normal wi-fi update and generally "select all" when have the time. Perhaps in the future upgrades that require prior action could have a brief advisory that prior action is required?

Thanks,

Al Burk PA22-160

Al, you actually experienced a bug. Units with an OS that doesn't support the left/right option should not be given that option until the latest OS is installed. We'll get this fixed in a patch release soon.

Thanks,
Walter

There should be a notification that whatever updates need a current OS those should not be downloaded until the current os is installed JMO whether it is checked for download or not. thanks George
