Right. And because my eyes aren't on the app when decending through clouds, I think it would be nice to have a aural reminder, like others.

As for the others, just because I like them on Foreflight (I'm currently Android based), and it seems that they might be easy to add.

Using electronic charts is not the same thing and is legal and safe.

I consider my charts critical to flight safety, and I definitely use the iFly charts "for shooting IFR approaches in IMC." so when you said what you did, I thought...

Anyway,I see a difference between use for primary navigation (improper and unsafe) and situational awareness (proper and safe). iFly already prompts for the next altitude on an approach. Execpt for concerns about the differing altitudes, I would consider oral callouts in the same category.

You should not be using iFly GPS for any IFR purpose other than "situational awareness" and electronic charts.  iFLY GPS is not an IFR certified device and use as such can get you killed.  Good luck with that.

To make an IFR approach, you need IFR certified VOR, ILS, or GPS.  You must follow the approach plate instructions and fixes or glide slope, etc.  You CANNOT use iFLY GPS to tell you anything other than information printed on the electronic charts.

There is already have a "500" call-out.  I don't really see much of an issue with "entering runway" etc., but agree with other posters that "Minimums" may be taking things a bit too far.
