The Presidential TFR for Asheville Regional which also includes an area about half the size of the state is not showing up on the IFLY. This TFR was issued yesterday 10/14/2011 and is effective beginning on Monday 10/17/2011 until Tuesday 10/18/2011. My question is, does ifly wait until the TFR effective date to post it? I did notice TFR H-10 on ifly but it is small compared to the FAA Presidential TFR listing. The FAA website list the Presidential TFR's as 1/7543 and 1/7557 and encompasses half the state.

I guess I'm just feeling the frustration of the FAA grabbing half the State of North Carolina with a Presidential airspace lockdown for a million dollar campaign bus that don't even fly.

It's simple: "ifly the bus can't."

Maybe it's me but I don't want "future" TFRs showing up before they're active. I am easily confused and have enough things to keep track of. If I can't fly across NC in two days before the TFR goes active, then show it to me when it activates. I'd check back on the 17th and then see if it shows.

Thanks for the reply. What you are suggesting makes sense but it doesn't seem to be the case because TFR-H 10 already depicted on the Ifly doesn't go active until Oct.17 at 1915Z. This "future" TFR was already viewable on Ifly as of 10/14/2011. It seems that they are posted as soon as they are issued by the FAA probably to give everyone time to become familiar with them. I'm just puzzled as to why the FAA and Ifly depictions do not match on this one. Be careful out there. If you see the million dollar bus you've probably busted the airspace!!!

I remember when that poor 'ol pipeliner pilot flew over the presidential motorcade right after 9/11. I know exactly where you're coming from with the frustration level. Especially when "The Man" shuts down most of North Carolina (God's country) for a political rally. I mean I respect the office and everything but this is a political sales trip.

As for me, guys, I WANT all TRFs to show on the iFly in advance just as soon as they are announced so that I am aware of them while I am doing flight planning. it is easy enough to click inside the TFR depiction to see the dates & times it will be active. I would much rather know this in advance than to find out while I am flying the route.
