Ok, I've got the lastest version of iFly on my android tabs and phone. I can see the new menu option to share a flight plan, but darn if I can get it to work. I have the phone and the tabs connected to the same wifi network (which is configured to allow devices to "see" each other. Any instructions available?

And here's another scenario that I hope will work for sharing flight plans. If I have my phone set up as a wifi hotspot (theoretically of course....) and then connect my tab to it for 'net connectivity, would my flight plans be shared/updated between the devices?

Thanks for making iFly awesome, it's hard to believe how far iFly has come in the last year with new and useful features!

Mark, flight plan sharing should be working. Just to be sure, please run the following procedure:
1. Start iFly on both devices.
2. On one device, create the flight plan, then select Flight plan -> More Options => Shared with Local Devices...
3. Then on the other device, it should prompt you to "accept shared flight plan?"

If that doesn't work, try a few different Wifi networks, and see any of them work.

If that still doesn't work, then I'll have to think on it more.

I've been able to get it to work but it is not automatically bi-directional. What I mean by this is that you have to send the plan from one device and receive it on the other device. If you leave this active, you only get the changes moving one way. If you make changes on the second device you need to stop the sharing and start it up from the second device so you can send it back. This is a pain! Also, it does not share anything to do with the aircraft you have selected or any new aircraft you may have added. The sharing over wifi helps, but I hope it gets better in future releases and includes items like my aircraft list.

I've had limited results after reading the info on the last couple of posts (Thanks!). I can share from my phone to my tab, but not the other way around.

Here's my results from following the advice found above:

Start/run iFly on both Android devices, connected to the same wifi network.

Open a flight plan on my Moto X (first gen)

On the second device (Samsung Galaxy tab S4), I cleared any flight plans from being "active".

On the Moto X (with the plan to be shared) I clicked on the menu item "share with local devices".

On the Samsung Tab I click on accept shared plan. Works as advertised.

However, the plan sharing won't work in reverse. Clear all flight plans from active on both devices. Stop sharing/accepting plans. Restart iFly both devices. Connect to same network as before (which works one way). Create new flight plan on Samsung Tab. Click on share with connected devices. The option to accept the share never appears on the Moto X. (Yes, the Moto X is rooted, but running stock Moto X android, not a variant. Only rooted to block Moto X lollipop upgrade).

As previously posted, bi-directonial would be awesome. Anything I can do to help troubleshoot this issue?

More info:

So far my experiments with sharing flight plans has been on a local wifi network (which is configured to allow devices to "see" each other and share data).

This time around I turned on my Moto X hotspot feature so it was broadcasting a wifi signal of it's own and was not using the home router (sorry to post probably obvious info, but for troubleshooting connective issues, maybe it's best practice).

I connected the Samsung Tab to the Moto X hotspot, and started iFly on both devices. Different results this time:

A flight plan on the Samsung will share across just fine to the Moto X, but not the other way around. I restarted iFly on both (while connected to the hotspot), cleared flight plans, but it made no difference, the only way the flight plan would flow is from tab to phone.

Hmmmm.....
