This may be treasonous to suggest but have you considered creating a version of iFly for iOS or Android? I think it would kick some serious Foreflight & WingX butt.

As Audrey Hepburn in My fair Lady sang, "Wouldn't it be loverly!" With my iFly 700 and my Android tablet I can fly all over the USA and be confident that I have all the latest, up-to-date information needed for each flight. If the two were put together by the iFly team; bye-bye Garmin, bye-bye Jeppsen, hello FAA ramp checkers - would you like to see my onboard filght plan information for today?

Serriously, I think that the IFly team, with help from its customers' input, has put together the very best flying and most afforable navigation tool for the privite pilot. Marrying the iFly 700/720 with a tablet such as the Android would compliment each other to make a great and complete, flight planning, navigation, weather, AFD, POH, A/C Equipment/System Documentation, Wt. & Bal., E6B Calculations, Log Books, Sun & Moon Rise/Set times, etc., etc., solution.

Are you referring to the Anderoid operating system or to an Android tablet?

I'd rather depend on the longevity of my iFly than the various Anderoid tablets.

I don't want an Android IFLY, but how about updating the IFly's SD card from an android tablet (similar to your windows update app)?

Edited: I guess this isn't needed....the usb download update process would work with an android tablet that has a usb slot.

Hi Roger - Yep. I just got back from a trip from Utah to N.C. and back. Each morning I downloaded the latest weather/TFR's from this site onto my Android tablet, then to my USB thumb drive, then onto my iFly700. Worked like a charm. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. These five minutes were more than made up when I called FSS to file my VFR flight plan. As they say, "One picture is worth 1000 words." - Jim Williams
