The only reason I would see for a company to publish something like that is for customer retention or to attract new customers. I would perhaps publish a list of soon to be released enhancements (next 30 to 60 days maybe), but that would be it. There is no business reason to give your competition a list of things you are working on. A private list would not help because your competitors would certainly be beta testers also. Otherwise, why do we need to know what they are working on unless it's time to renew?

I suggested a list several years ago and got the response Cobra referred to. I still think it would be a good idea to have a list of those items suggested on the forums. I wouldn't expect iFly to tell us, or anyone else which ideas they're working on, but it would be interesting to have a list, going back to iFly v1.0 just to see how many suggestions have been adopted. Sort of a brag list. It seems to me it would be a great selling point to list all the user initiated features have been implemented. After all, it doesn't seem to me the suggestions are secret, and most are relatively obvious and would be desirable in most any device.

What you are suggesting is something totally different. A list of customer suggestions that have been implemented would not be a problem IMHO. The problem is listing things you are working on that you don't want to announce to your competitors.

I like the idea of a separate list of what's been suggested already so as to avoid duplicates. (Although who is going to compile that list? Or simply publish Shane's Wish-List?)

I usually do a Search before I post a new idea to see if I'm duplicating an idea. But 1) as Cobra demonstrated in this thread, the search engine doesn't work as well as one might expect (perhaps the webmaster could use Google's free search-your-own-website tool instead?), 2) I always have to remember to change the start date to a year or two back, and 3) How far back should I go in time? There's a long history here in the iFly forum.

While I understand the "brag" feature of showing how many customer idea's iFly has adopted/integrated, that might weaken the purpose of the list. Since the main purpose of the list is to reduce clutter in the forum (by reducing dupe requests), I suggest it would be better to simply list still-open requests.

(Or, if iFly were to show how many customer idea's have been adopted (although who keeps such a list?), the list of "closed" (adopted) suggestions should be a separate list somewhere.)

I don't think AP minds duplicate requests. In fact, I think they sometimes factor that into their decisions on how to prioritize development of new features.
