Don't know if it's still an issue or not but back when I had the original iFly 700, I had to snip the receive pin off the iFly cable to make sure it could send but not receive, the iFly got confused when it received data from the Dynon (D10A) and thought it was some other type of device attached and quit sending NMEA output. I still have the same cable with my 740.

I think we might have found a solution to this...

After doing some research on the web, I found that people had had problems using cables that did not have the FTDI chipset.  The other type of chipset in cheaper cables is called Prolific.  I believe the first cable I bought was a Prolific chipset type.  When I bought a cable with a FTDI chipset the connection problem seemed to disappear.

I assume that the cable you sell has a FTDI chipset.  If anyone else contacts you with connection problems, ask them to check that they are using a cable with a FTDI chipset.

No joy with the Best Buy cable, ordered the Amazon cable.  This will be #4.

I have thus far tried 4 serial to USB cables.  Cables from Best Buy and Amazon with the Prolific chip, one cable from iFly, chip unknown, and one cable from Amazon with the FTDI chip.  As a reminder, it worked for a few minutes once in simulator mode but never again.  I tried the iFly Normal, Enhanced and Custom output modes, the latter with just the sentences Dynon says they need.  I tried the Dynon in NEMA and Auto modes, and I checked the wiring from the serial connector to the Dynon and it is OK.  I have scoured the web and find conflicting reports on this connectivity.  Is there any help out there?

Thanks,

Charlie
