Thanks for the info Ralph. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting all the connections on the SkyGuard. I have tried it with both 7.6.13 and 7.6.14 with no change. I have been able to get it to make changes but only for a short time after power up. Say 1 to 2 minutes after powerup then it will no longer accept any changes and it just gives me an error message. It works every time after I power it down then back up but just for the first couple of minutes. The support guys at iFly are working hard on trying to figure it out but it is kind of a bad week because alot of the staff is at OshKosh.

Tom, do you have an iPad or an iPhone? If so, can you try downloading the SkyGuard app to see if the same problem occurs with that? Keep your iFly turned off during this test.

Thanks!
Walter

Sorry Walter. I dont have either. I am going to be out of town for a week. When I get back I will try to find someone to borrow one from. If they had an Android app I could try that. But they don't.

Tom & AP staff: I went to the airport today to see how well the SkyGuard TWX transceiver would work if it were located in the empennage of my Tri-Pacer, instead of on the glareshield. In the process I also decided to do a "stress test" on the ver. 7.6.14 Skyguard control dialogue box that you have been having troubles with. I performed a LOT of squawk code changes and idents using the "Common Codes" box and also by entering random 4-digit codes. I made entries about every 30-seconds-to-1 minute and experienced no problems until about 15 minutes into the "test", when I got an "error: entry not verified (or confirmed?)", and I noticed that the status line reported "ADSB connection lost". The connection restored itself in less than a minute and code entry worked fine again (no reboot needed). It happened later again and corrected itself automatically when the connection re-established itself (I have disabled all other WiFi networks and only use the 720 exclusively with the SkyGuard TWX). I did have the iFly 720 about 20-25 feet away from the SkyGuard which was buried inside the empennage of my fabric covered aircraft. So other than the 2 brief "Connection Lost" errors, the Skyguard control box worked OK for me today in spite of making numerous code entries over 20-25 minutes. By the way, I tested the SkyGuard WiFi signal strength and was pleasantly amazed to find it worked fine with the 720 from over 30 feet away. ====Ralph
