Brian, do whatever you want. I don't care.

I too prefer raw data instead of cosmetic modification.

I also prefer to see the "real" data, even if it's "ugly".

However, I understand that a large segment of the customer base doesn't understand or appreciate that the "smoother" radar displays of other devices is just artificially massaged to look pretty, and doesn't actually have any better precision than the blocky display...just like a large population of the viewing public doesn't realize that you can't just "enhance" a digital photo to read a licence plate like they do on CSI all the time.

So if that is or becomes a drawback that limits iFly's appeal and thus their success in the market, I would be willing to accept a smoother, sexier, and "falser" radar display.

But that would not be my preference.

Ditto - when nothing real is to be gained, don't mess with it.

Pretty vs accurate?

I am curious as to why the following weather apps smooth out the precipitation pixels if they aren't as accurate?

Intellicast

Aviation Weather from NOAA

Wing X

Foreflight

The Weather Channel

Weather Underground

AOPA Weather

National Weather Service

So...all of the above are pretty, but inaccurate?
