One question/problem I'm having is I bought from iFly the USB to Serial cable.  Following the videos, I can get the 740 to recognize the cable if it is not connected to anyting dynon.  Then plug into the Dynon serial D100 EFIS or D120 EMS and it works.  However, if I shut it down and leave everything connected, it will not recognize the USB/serial cable, I have to unplug from the Dynon.  I have confirmed NMEA setting, baud rate and sentences, etc.  It seems crazy to have to reach under the panel after ever engine start to plug in the serial cable to the Dynon unit.

Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong or should do?     Thank you

This may or may not be your issue. Years ago when I first connected a 700 to D10A had similar issues. Problem ended up being Dynon transmitting something that confused the iFly as to what was connected when the iFky started up. I removed the Dynon Tx/iFly Rx pin from the cable so that became purely one way from iFly to Dynon and never had a problem again. Same cable from 700 to 720 now 740.
