So I have the Ifly working with my EFIS and now I'm thinking of jumping on the 2nd group buy for a Skyradar. Would I be able to connect both using a USB Hub? Has AP tested a set-up like this and will it work?

Thanks.

Alasdair,

We've been able to support multiple devices using a USB hub. But before you sink $ into a SkyRadar I would be happy to test our system with your configuration. So, couple of questions: Are you using our USB to Serial cable for the EFIS connection? What is the baud and sentences selected (or are you using one of the "Standard" or "Advanced" presets?). Do you already have a hub, if so what is the brand/model. If I have something similar I'll test with that.

Thanks,

Walter

Thanks Walter - Yup I'm using your USB to serial cable with (per our prior thread) pin 2 removed. The ifly is set to Extended which I think means 9600 baud and the Dynon D10 Efis is simply set on 'Auto-detect'. The Efis is also the autopilot. Everything works great. Weather would just be the icing on the cake.

I have one of these (http://www.ebay.com/itm/280718314894?...) cheap USB hubs that I use on an old PC but I haven't bought anything to use with the ifly yet. Figured I'd try what I have however would be more than happy to get whichever brand you recommend. I liked the idea of the something similar to the one shown since I could velcro it to the back of the Ify which would give three ports pointing back for 'devices' and one on the side to replace the Ify port to use for memory stick updates.

Thanks in advance for your help. Your product and support is amazing.

Ed just ran through a test with this setup using a similar hub, everything works fine. But be sure and boot up the iFly with the hub plugged in. Once the USB port has been "claimed" by a driver it doesn't like giving it up. Also if you do an update with a thumb drive you may need to reboot to free up the drivers on that port.
