Just got the yoke mount and I am puzzled about the little "extra knob" that came with it?

Anyone have any good pictures of the mount in use?

Jim,

By "extra knob", do you mean the 1" ball adapter with a flat plate on one side. If so, this is a iFly to RAM adapter. Simply insert the flat side with the metal plate into the key-hole slot on the back of the iFly, slide it to the narrow end of the slot and give the ball about a 1/4-12 turn clockwise. No tools needed. This will tighten the ball on the back of the iFly so you can then mount into the RAM arm coming from the base. The wing nut on the arm will secure both ends once you have your desired position. I hope this helps.

Sorry! I should have included a picture in the first post.

The little fellow by the arrow, about the size of a nickle.

Ah, gotcha. That part can be used in conjunction with the other floating part that came with the mount. They allow converting it form a yoke/tube clamp to a flat-surface clamp. You pop off the "V" from the screw, and pop on this little disk. Then you screw on the other flat-angeley-sort of thing to the other side of the clamp. See picture, that will hopefully add more clarity than my dopey description....
