Backup Battery

Picked up my new unit at Oshkosh. Just now got around to looking at the battery. I came with what I call an RF choke. The instructions don't mention it. I was wondering how to install it. Do I need to make a loop or two before I clamp it on or is it even necessary? NC Colt
