On my Samsung , the GPS function stopped working  on I Fly GPS .  It still works on the other Apps on the device.  Google Maps and other mapping Apps works fine.  On I FLY GPS though it says scanning  for location.  Help... any ideas..?????

There are a lot of Samsung devices.  What specific device are you having trouble with, and what version of Android is it running?

Steve,

If you've already rebooted your device, the first place I would check is the permissions for the iFly GPS App. Open the device Settings, then go to the Apps settings menu. Scroll through the list and touch on iFly GPS. Then touch on Permissions and make sure Location permissions are granted.

If those are good, try uninstalling iFly GPS and reinstalling it from the Play Store.

So I tried all the rebooting, reloading  etc.   I think what happened  is that I took the tablet on vacation to Tahiti, the GPS got re-initialized  to that part of the world .  So  I let it run all night and it finally found the satellites for Northern California .    Thank  you all for your input.

Hi Steve, I'm glad it worked out for you.   One thing to note, is that some of the more mainstream apps make use of "pseudo-GPS" mechanisms which are not available in the air, such as Wifi-proximity algorithms, or cell towers.    These types of mechanisms are not available in-the-air, and so we haven't explored the means of making use of them.   As a result, at times like these, Google Maps will show you a location, while iFly does not.   I believe this is what was happening with you here, which was the main point of contention.
