Are flight plans files on Android IflyGps TOP-SECRET?    Meaning the type of file: TXT, XML,  KML, GPX, FDX or ???.  Seems that all flight plans are saved into one file and the IflyGps deciphers which one needed when picked from a list.   You know, the easiest way to do all that is just save each Flight Plan as a seperate file that also could be imported from flight planners.  I use Seattle Avionics Voyager and have since its inception (lifetime - I'm special ;-) , then there is AOPA flight planner, then there could be a Windows IflyGps to flight plan with. Honestly, doing flight plans on a tablet is just a bit troublesone even though dueable.

Pitch in or add to this if possible or where am I going wrong?

I can't answer your questions except to say, I'm pretty sure the iFly team is working on us having the ability to import flight plans from whatever sources will give them the ability to do so.  However I don't know where they are on this project.

Joe, thank you for the suggestions!   We do take user suggestions very seriously.  The ideas you are suggesting are feasible to implement.

FYI, we already do support importing from KML and GPZ.  But not yet exporting to other formats.

Additionally, v10, which is on the verge of release implements "cloud sharing" of all flight plans amongst all of your registered iFly devices, such that you could create your flight plan on Windows (as v10 runs on a PC!), and then sync your flight plans from that PC to the rest of your devices.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the Ifly Android software (latest version) to do that. I'll experiment some more this evening.

To import from KML/GPZ, do the following:

1. Menu=> Check for Updates => Advanced => Change Storage Location =>   Removable SD Card
2. Then put your SD CArd into a PC, and navigate to a folder like:  Adroid => iFlyGPS => data => files => #FlightPlans
3. Copy your GPZ/KML flight plans to "#FlightPlans" folder, and then they should show up inside iFly.

This was a specialty feature, only used by a few high volume users.   We may want to make this easier to access in the future.
