I'm thinking the VFR reporting points are depicted visually on the sectional charts but are not contained in any sort of database that could be overlaid on the vector charts.

No fixes to this have been made in v10. Are you able to reproduce this using the Simulation mode? I am not. Whenever I Disable Terrain/Traffic and set all Airspace Alert modes to "No Alert", I get no more squawking/dinging sounds, nor do any alert boxes pop-up. However, note, you will see the "Alert" button pop up for collision alerts, but it shouldn't make any sounds.

If you are hearing any alert squawks with all of these alerts disabled, this is a bug. If you can reproduce this issue, please do so, and Send Bug Report. I'd like to get this fixed for v10, if this bug exists.

Hi Brian:

It happened with some airspace alerts set. So it sounds like something is "leaking" thru. (I'm surprised that iFly is constantly computing Alerts in the background, even when disabled at the display level. I wonder if there's a performance hit for this?)

I'll enable logging and run the same sim tomorrow on v10b and email you log if trouble.

I ran the same sim as the other day, this time w/ v10.0.9. This time the only message I got was in the little pop up that usually shows the chart scale. It said something about "Reduced alert" and leaving the Class D airspace. (First time that I've ever seen that message in the pop up. (That's a different pop up (I think) than the one about Weather update complete.))

That's in contrast to the large text Alert box with buttons that appeared the other day.

I just ran a simulation with all possible alerts turned off. I got popups for the airport zone, yellow and red buttons for terrain and obstacles. It appears that these cannot be turned off, no matter what the settings. Most of my flying is down low, near terrain, and most of my landings are off airport. I want to be able to completely disable terrain warnings.
