This is a new model phone so I don't expect a specific answer but I get "No GPS Position Lock" pretty much continually. Very occasionally and for short duration, it gets a FULL signal and works but quickly loses the lock.

This is in the airplane, in the car, walking the streets - no obstructions. The phone's GPS is working fine with other applications but not with iFly.

Any ideas or tricks before I call for tech support.

Please duplicate this issue -- let it run for a few minutes, where other apps are getting GPS signal fine, but not iFly GPS. And even better, wait for iFly GPS to get a few good signals (before losing it).

Then do "Menu => About => Send Bug Report", so that I can see the error log.

Thanks Brian - I just did that. iFly briefly had a signal, then lost it and it is not coming back. Clear view of sky and other phone GPS functions working. Please let me know you got the report and if I need to do anything else.

I got the report, and recognize the error. You are the 2nd user to send us this error. I originates from what appears to be a bug in LG's firmware for spitting out NMEA-formatted GPS data, which we consume.

In short, they are formatting the Longitude like this:
-70-56.348141,W, => to mean 70 deg, 56.35 minutes WEST Longitude

But it SHOULD look like this: (just omit the minuses (-))
7056.348141,W,

It looks like a common coding bug where they determined it was "WEST" because it was negative, but then forgot to set the value back to positive before dumping it into the NMEA stream.

We could install a coding patch to strip the minuses ourselves, but I believe the ball is in LG's court to fix what appears to be a simple firmware bug in the NMEA formatting logic.

So I am SOL until LG fixes this, if ever?
