For those of you still wondering about stratux for ifly on android, it works great. Officially not supported, but Ifly sees it as a freeflight device so in a sense stratux is supported. Took a couple hours to assemble the kit, so not exactly plug and play. I flew 2 hours last evening and had 6 towers simultaneously using the standard antenna inside the cockpit. Weather works fantastic, which is really all I wanted. I'm going to fire XM weather and I'll have another $35/month for gasoline!
Also saw a lot of traffic but I live near a metro area so I was piggybacking. Only have a 978 radio plugged in, might get a second one for--$25! So I can have 1090 also.
If you buy the parts, don't buy the standard kit, buy the vilros pi 2 kit but buy the nooelec nano2 radio instead of the micro 2 radio. The nano 2 is 1/4 the size so it makes the package neater, no dongle sticking way out. Also need a different case, I see an aluminum one on Amazon for$16.
I'll see if I can attach a picture.

Great info. The Nano 2 are the ones I used too. I actually ordered a few SMA to MCX adapters and stick antennas. Below is a picture of my build, I'm calling it my SkyPi.

If you'd like to try the new 9.4 version of iFly GPS, let me know if you'd like to be a beta tester. We've made a lot of ADSB improvements to the presentation of traffic. We also added the AHRS support for the Stratux too. There is now a Stratux option in the connected devices too.

Your post is clear, concise, well presented and these are some characteristic of our beta testers. There is a beta team request page listed under the Support Tab. It's simple to get the beta for Android. It's a little more difficult on Apple devices. Let me know if you are interested.

Shane, that's a hell of a rig you've made!
I will fill out that beta request. Thanks!

I've actually got an aluminun case that closes off the openings, that I'll put on it this weekend. I also added the GPS dongle with a 180 degree USB adapter so the GPS can set on top. I'll try and post picks once that is done.

I do wish the RasPi had more space around each USB port. It gets tight with the 2 SDRs, GPS, WiFi dongles. I may have to use a short 3" USB cable relocate the SDRs to the Side or top. Glad you like it.

I personally use the SkyGuardTWX In/Out in my plane, but I like to have my little "SkyPi" as a backup and for testing away from the plane. Call it a tinkering project. Glad you like it.

There was some discussion about the SkyGuard Out in the stratux forum. Apparently they got approval to xmit Out? (And the Out they send triggers the puck? (certified vs. non-certified.) Did you have to send yours in for an update?
