Sorry, I should have prefaced my reply with the statement that I do not use LM for filing, so I don't know what services LM provides directly.
Perhaps a better (or additional) solution than using FlightAware.com, as you suggested, is to have the option for iFly to file and cancel flight plans with DUATS rather than LM.

The way I see it, the "ask LM" (or DUATS) approach involves someone else taking action to get the desired result, and may only work if LM (or DUATS) is used for filing, whereas the FlightAware approach is something I can control myself, and it already works today regardless of whether my plan is filed with LM or via another method. You may see it differently.
