If it's about having an unlimited view on the instrument -- my opinion is that's overkill.  I don't need to know I'm going to run into something more than 10-20 minutes ahead of me.

Regarding printing the flight plan: there have been multiple requests for that, and some discussion on workarounds.

No, I don't want to see the entire route while in flight, but, during planning, I'd like to be able to move through the flight to see if there's times I am close to (or under) the highest terrain.
