I received my XGPS170 from Adventure Pilot a couple weeks ago, but just got to fly with it this morning. Using my Nexus 7, it works as advertised! SETUP: I was floundering for an hour or two, but it needn't be so. Unfortunately, neither the Ifly manual nor the Dual manual were of much help. Fortunately, I got all the help I needed via phone support. Until the Ifly manual is more up to date, it would be nice if Adventure Pilot would include a setup instruction sheet. The Dual book tells you to install a "helper app", but you don't need that. That functionality seems to be built into the Ifly app. The key to the whole thing in Ifly is Menu > About > Connected Devices From there, set it to connect to your XGPS170. Only then will the "GPS" and "ADS-B" lights light on your XGPS-170. There is a nice window there that will tell you if Ifly is receiving data from your unit. You won't have to guess! USE: First I took it for a ride in the car to try out the GPS and sniff for ADS-B information. The GPS worked fine in the car. Even though I live near a major airport with and ADS-B tower, I never found an ADS-B signal on the ground. Today I finally got to fly with it. The ADS-B light started flashing as soon as I cleared the trees. There wasn't any weather to see, but I seemed to have a solid data connection the entire time I was in the air. My plane didn't have ADS-B out, but I did get treated to traffic information occasionally, and even received one traffic alert. Most importantly, I had a solid GPS signal for the entire flight! That was an issue with the internal GPS in my Nexus. CONCLUSION: For under $1000, the combination of Ifly, Nexus 7, and Dual XGPS170 gives me in-cockpit situational awareness that would have been science fiction just a few years ago. I love it!

Good feedback. We currently send out setup instructions for the Vision-Pro, but I think we need to include our simplified DUAL Instructions as well, at least until the Manual is updated. We can most definitely do a better job of assisting on the initial setup.

I'll make sure that is added to our future shipments and possible look at adding a simple "DUAL Setup" page to our support documents. Thanks again for the heads up and I'm glad you are liking your iFly, Dual, App combination. Have a great weekend.
